About
A soil company, working on damaged ground.
Elm Dirt makes organic soil biology in Kansas City, Missouri. Elm Remediation is the part of the company that takes it onto contaminated and damaged land, and measures what happens.

Why a soil-biology maker took on contaminated ground
Elm Dirt started out making organic products that feed soil life. Then Biome Makers sequenced the DNA in our biologicals and found 291 species of bacteria and fungi. When we read up on those species, a lot of the names turned up in a different body of research: organisms scientists study for breaking down fuels, PAHs, solvents and pesticides, and for binding metals.
So we asked whether the biology we already make at volume could help restore damaged soil. On the right sites, we think it can. A species in a journal and a result in the ground are two different things, though, so we test before we claim anything.
Our first field program is a soil-restoration pilot in East Palestine, Ohio, with independent lab monitoring. We'll publish what we find once the testing supports it.
